Discovering a great hotel when you’re visiting in Boone isn’t often easy, simply because you have so many options! Sure, you can decide upon something out of the same Boone guide which everybody and their friend has used for the past five years, but that doesn’t mean you’re going to have a very good experience (the truth is, it may nearly ensure a negative one!). Instead, it’s a good idea to do the tiniest bit of homework, utilizing your friend the ‘net. Locals definitely know the finest places to stay in their own city, what the best rooms are, and the optimum times of year to hit up their favorite parts of the city. However, you do not want to be going up to anyone you run into in the airport in Boone, looking for their hints and tips. So alternatively, we’ve compiled this short list of our 3 favorite hotels in Boone for you. They are the ones we recommend to our family when they come to visit – but since we do not want you to imagine we’re merely being biased, here are the reviews from Yelp.com:

1. Hidden Valley Motel
8725 Nc Highway 105 S

The place is quite inexpensive for the area, and Jim and Maxine (the mom and pop owners) are very friendly. Although a word of warning: since they’re not a big chain hotel, if you cancel less than 48 hours before you’re supposed to be there, and they can’t rent your room to someone else, they’ll charge you for it. But I think that’s perfectly understandable for their type of business.
I recommend it, especially if you’re not picky about hotels. The Ritz, it ain’t, but it works great for a weekend ski break for the financially aware.

We stayed at the Green Cove 4 bedroom cottage. It was absolutely wonderful. The house was very well stocked, had a gorgeous view, and was very clean and comfortable. The great room area is really nice! It’s large and spacious and perfect for hanging out with the fire going. I stayed with my family just after Christmas until after New Year’s Eve. It was COLD outside, but the cabin stayed nice, warm, and cozy. If I come back to this area, I’ll be staying at Yonahlossee and requesting this cabin again. Loved it.

What a charming place! Loved it!! The cabins are all so cute, the staff is super friendly and the breakfast was yummmmmmm!! They asked if we had any dietary restrictions and I told them my daughter is a vegetarian. They made a special vege puff pastry and gave her a vegetarian sausage patty with the pancakes that she said was delish. Thanks for the nice treatment.
